Peruvian Police Chief Injured in Confrontation with Criminals in Lima

Lima, May 21 (EFE).- The head of the Robbery Division of the Peruvian National Police, Colonel Juan Carlos Montufar, was wounded in one leg this Wednesday, following a confrontation with a gang of criminals on a main road in the city of Lima, which led to the paralysing of traffic on that high-circulation avenue.

The delivery is part of an initial total of nine Black Hawks that will take the post of 24 UH-1H Huey II helicopters in counter-narcotics operations.The three UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters were received by the police general commander, General Victor José Zanabria Angulo, at Capitan FAP David Abensur Rengifo International Airport, located in the Pucallpa region, a jungle area in eastern Peru.
