Former Peruvian president Ollanta Humala was released this Friday from a prison in Lima, after justice overturned his 15-year sentence for money laundering for receiving money from the construction company Odebrecht, AFP journalists noted.
With his voice cut short, Humala stressed that because of this "persecution they have made me have to take my wife and take my children out of the country."
