The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) agreed on a financing operation with CAF-Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe for $800 million, aimed at structurally improving the country's prison system through the construction of new establishments and institutional strengthening of the sector.The announcement was made on Sunday, June 29, during the 185th meeting of the CAF directory, held in the city of Seville, Spain.
