In a recent video from the Jezero crater, the Perseverance instrument captured the silhouette of Phobos, one of the two Martian moons, moving across the solar disk.
NASA’s rover Perseverance photographed the transit of Fobos before the Sun on August 12, 2026, during the mission’s 1948 sun. The silhouette of the largest moon on Mars was cut against the solar disk from the Jezero crater. It is not the first time that its cameras record this Martian eclipse.
