On 25 May 2025, a circular issued by the Ministry of Health announced a series of inspections on all French natural and source mineral water packaging sites, aimed at ensuring compliance with health standards, including the Perrier de Vergèze site in the Gard, where bacterial contamination has been detected.This control plan is part of a broader scandal affecting bottled water, in which several brands of the Nestlé group are cited.

Franceinfo announced this Sunday that a circular had been sent this week to the Regional Health Agencies, as part of Nestlé's mineral water fraud. It plans to launch an inspection plan for all packaging plants, and aims without mentioning the Perrier brand.
