On the 13th, ahead of the opening of Mount Fuji on the Yamanashi side (July 1st), a newly completed permanent gate was unveiled at the 5th station of the Yoshida trail. In order to prevent "lightly dressed climbers," a rehearsal was conducted by prefectural officials known as "Mount Fuji Rangers," and the gate was opened to allow climbers in.
On the 13th, Yamanashi Prefecture completed construction of a permanent gate to regulate access to the mountain at the 5th station of the Yoshida Trail on the prefecture's side of Mt. Fuji, and opened it to the media. A rehearsal was also held in which prefectural officials, the Mt. Fuji Rangers, will provide guidance to climbers ahead of the mountain's opening on July 1st. The gate is approximately 1.5m wide.
