Parliamentarians have tabled a project in Parliament calling for the application of pension law and indexation with inflation next year. The impact of the increase would be at least 12 billion lei. According to our information, an indexation of at least 7% is taken into account, but experts say that it would take at least 12% after the two years of blocking.
After a two-year freeze, the value of the reference point (VPR) used to calculate pensions in Romania may increase again from January 2027.
