Pelicans squander 20-point lead, rebound to beat Spurs 104-95

New Orleans Pelicans rallied with a 13-point run to win despite losing a 20-point lead, outscoring San Antonio Spurs 15-3 in the final minutes, coach James Borrego said.

  • On Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, the New Orleans Pelicans rebounded to beat the San Antonio Spurs 104-95 at Frost Bank Center after squandering a 20-point lead.
  • Given Borrego’s recent rotations, he first used the starting lineup of Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Zion Williamson, Saddiq Bey and Derik Queen on Friday, leading to the win.
  • Both Saddiq Bey and Zion Williamson finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Yves Missi, Pelicans center, and Trey Murphy III contributed double-doubles and key assists.
  • Despite the late rally, the win prevented New Orleans from being swept by San Antonio Spurs, who had their full rotation available for the first time since Dec. 29 but missed their final four free throws trailing 98-93.
  • On Tuesday, the Pelicans conclude their 3-game road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder, aiming to end a 12-game losing streak that James Borrego says requires stronger defense.

Evening to forget for the two tenors in the West. OKC, the leader, like San Antonio, his dolphin, both drank the cup on Sunday night. At their home against New Orleans, the last of the conference, the Spurs obviously left with prognosis favors when they presented themselves on the floor of the Frost Bank Center against Zion Williamson and his teammates. The latter obviously did not hear him from this ear.
