Judge Edhin Campos has ordered the extension until March 2027 of the pretrial detention for the ex-mandatario, investigated for allegedly forming a network that charged commissions in exchange for the award of public contracts, mainly from the Ministries of Housing and Transport, to companies and close associates.

The Peruvian court extended the precautionary measure against the ex-mandatario, who is investigated for leading a criminal network dedicated to collecting bribes in public works.
