JONES COUNTY, TX — A 20-year-old man from Rio Grande City died after being struck by a car while walking in a roadway north of Hawley, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Friday. Alexis Ivan Jimenez was hit just before 11 p.m. Thursday on the U.S. Highway 277 frontage road, about 5 miles north of Hawley, according to a DPS crash report.
