Peabo Bryson, Velvety Voice Behind Disney Duets & More, Dies at 75

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, two-time Grammy Award-winning singer and balladeer Peabo Bryson died at age 75 in Marietta, Georgia, after suffering a stroke over the weekend.
Renowned for his soulful voice, Bryson achieved significant fame for his Oscar-winning Disney collaborations, recording 'Beauty and the Beast' with Celine Dion and 'A Whole New World' with Regina Belle.
Beyond Disney, the singer placed 12 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 during his career. His two Grammy-winning duets won best pop performance by a duo or group in 1993 and 1994.
"With broken hearts and profound sadness, the family of two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson, announces his passing," his loved ones stated. The family requested privacy while noting his music will endure.
Bryson, who described himself as a 'true Renaissance man,' released 20 studio albums and performed recently in Fayetteville, Georgia. His legacy spans more than five decades of soulful contributions to music.
