PAXTON — The electrical substation, a stone building adjacent to the Center Cemetery and Congregational Church, has long sat as a quiet reminder of the town’s early days of electrical service, even if few knew its history. Its stone structure still strong, it was weathered, the wood of the roof compromised in places, something volunteers recently sought to remedy.
