Veteran Hong Kong Actor and Filmmaker Patrick Tse Dies at Age 89
Nicholas Tse said his father died peacefully at home after his health declined in recent years, and family members are handling funeral plans.
On Monday, Hong Kong veteran actor Patrick Tse Yin, known as Fourth Brother, died at 89. His children, actor-singer Nicholas Tse and actress-model Jennifer Tse, confirmed the passing in a statement.
Patrick enjoyed a seven-decade career, appearing in over 200 films and dramas since his acting debut at 17. In 2022, he won his first Best Actor award from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society for Time.
Married twice, including to former Miss Hong Kong Deborah Lee, Patrick had two children. He largely stepped out of the public eye, last seen in April having coffee with friends at The Peak.
To handle funeral arrangements, Nicholas is returning to Hong Kong from his concert tour. His sister, Jennifer, who lives in Canada, is also expected to return for the service.
Paying tribute, Nicholas recalled his father's commitment to "The show must go on." The family remembered Patrick as an artiste who brought joy to everyone around him.
Born in 1936, the actor, who had taken on Canadian nationality, nicknamed "Sei Gor" ("Fourth Brother") led a career over several decades after his debut on screen in 1954.
