His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East has condemned an attack on the city of Al-Suqaylabiyah in the Hama countryside in which properties were vandalized and a shrine of the Most Holy Theotokos was fired upon.
Christians in Syria Under Attack Once Again
On the evening of March 27, 2026, armed groups attacked the predominantly Christian town of Al-Suqaylabiyah in Hama province, Syria, destroying homes, shops, cars, and churches.
Although Syria is wedged between the fronts of the war against Iran, it has not escaped internal instability. In Hama province, shops belonging to Christian families are being vandalized and set on fire.
