Finnish passport production moved to Poland, 160 jobs cut
Thales DIS Finland has announced it will end passport manufacturing at its Vantaa facility, transferring production to Poland and resulting in the loss of 160 jobs. The company, which has produced Finnish passports in Vantaa since 2017, concluded mandatory redundancy negotiations this week. Of the current workforce, only around 130 employees will remain. The change was first reported by Taloussanomat.
According to information received by IS, 160 jobs will be lost in Finland as a result of the change negotiations.
The production of passports will be moved to Poland, and in Finland only the passport holder's personal information will be added, reports Ilta Sanomat.
The production of passports in Finland will be discontinued and the documents will be printed in Poland, the Finnish business daily Taloussanomat reported on Wednesday.
