On Yoon's life sentence... Lee Jun-seok will never be forgiven, a just verdict. On the 19th, upon former President Yoon Seok-yeol's first trial sentencing him to life imprisonment on charges of leading an insurrection, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the New Reform Party, stated, "In a democratic republic, power that treats the sovereign as an enemy is never forgiven. This verdict is heavy, but justified."

Rep. Han Jun-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea (Goyang-eul) emphasized that he would swiftly push for a law prohibiting pardons for insurrectionists in connection with the life sentence for former President Yoon Seok-yeol. Rep. Han wrote on his Facebook page on the 20th, "Insurrection must be condemned to the end. Sweep it away."
