Radu Burnete, presidential adviser on economic issues, said on Thursday, at the end of consultations with the leaders of political parties on the law of pay, that they will return to Cotroceni next week to discuss with the president of Romania, under the conditions in which no political consensus was reached on the project.
Negotiations between the head of state and the PNL, PSD, USR and UDMR leaders for the release of the Salariization Law have ended without an agreement. The parties in the former coalition have time until next week to decide whether to support the project when a new meeting will be held with Nicuchor Dan. The former President of Romania Traian Basescu is of the opinion that, as long as Nicuchor Dan has issued an opinion on the Wage Act, stating that he will not promulgate the normative act if he foresees wage cuts, a result will not be achieved.
The Government has completed the draft Law on Salary of Staff Paid from Public Funds, which will replace the current Law 153/2017.
