- In response to the law, House Bill 1481, Paris ISD mandates restricting personal communication devices during school hours, signed into law last month by Governor Greg Abbott.
- Under the new policy, communication devices must be stored in backpacks turned off, with confiscation until a parent or guardian picks them up, except for students with documented disabilities, medical needs or special education accommodations.
