Man Kills Wife, 7-Year-Old Son in Murder-Suicide in Katy

A man killed his 43-year-old wife and their 7-year-old son in a murder-suicide Saturday afternoon in a Katy apartment complex.
The shooting occurred after deputies responded to the 20100 block of Park Row Drive following reports that the husband was suffering from depression.
Deputies arrived shortly before 10 a.m., found the woman and child dead from gunshot wounds, and transported the 42-year-old husband to a hospital where he died on arrival.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez called the situation "awful," confirmed a pistol was found at the scene, and stated that the couple’s 19-year-old daughter and her boyfriend were inside the residence during the incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances, confirming the event as a double murder-suicide with mental health issues as a possible factor.
