Paraglider survives mid-air collision with plane over Austria

- On Saturday, Sabrina, a 44-year-old paraglider, survived a midair collision over the Piesendorf area of Salzburg after a small plane struck her glider, according to the Salzburg State Police.
- Operating a scenic flight over the Austrian Alps, the 28-year-old pilot told authorities he was unable to avoid the collision with the paraglider.
- "The propeller of the motor plane severely damaged the paraglider, prompting the experienced paraglider to deploy her reserve parachute," police said, as the shredded canopy trailed behind her in two pieces.
- Following an emergency landing, a police helicopter airlifted her, and she escaped the incident with little more than bruises, according to authorities.
