Iowa Wrestling, UNI Agree to Home-and-Home Duals
The Hawkeyes and Panthers will meet in a home-and-home series for the first time since 2011, with FloWrestling carrying the Dec. 11 dual.
- On Tuesday, June 30, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa announced a two-year, home-and-home wrestling series starting with the 2026-27 season, marking their first dual since 2011.
- Iowa leads the all-time series 44-8-2, and UNI head coach Doug Schwab and Iowa head coach Tom Brands collaborated with Frank Popolizo of Journeymen Wrestling to organize this renewed competition.
- The Hawkeyes will travel to Cedar Falls on December 11 to face the Panthers inside the UNI-Dome for the 'Dual in the Dome,' streaming exclusively on FloWrestling at 7 p.m. CT.
- Tickets go on sale to the general public August 5, with season ticket holders receiving a 20% discount starting July 22, as organizers anticipate a capacity crowd.
- The teams will meet again during the 2027-28 season at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, with UNI returning veterans and Iowa leaning on rising stars Angelo Ferrari and Ben Kueter.
