Panthers LB Thomas Davis suffered opioid addiction that opened the door to sprawling drug case
Thomas Davis of the Carolina Panthers was known for his charitable community work, including funding a college scholarship, a food drive, and a Christmas gift giveaway.
Davis developed an opioid addiction during or after his football career, which caused personal problems and damaged his reputation.
His addiction was linked to prescriptions obtained through Joan Rubinger, a healer who treated many professional athletes and was investigated.
Davis has sought treatment for his addiction and is focused on repairing his relationship with his children, including his eldest who plays college football.
