The president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, has announced the beginning of the process of construction of a gas pipeline that will form part of the new energy corridor that will develop the Panama Canal.

The project foresees the generation of more than 6,500 jobs in its construction phase and about 9,600 in the operational phase.
