A measurement taken this morning showed a cooling water temperature downstream of the station at 29.7 degrees Celsius, exceeding the intervention limit of 29.5°C.
Experts will conduct new checks of the river temperature, and further measures will depend on the measured results.
Hungary reduced the production of one of the Paks nuclear power reactors after the Danube water, used for cooling, exceeded the intervention threshold set by the authorities, announced on Saturday the operator of the power plant, MVM, on its website.
When the temperature of the Danube reaches the value set by law, the power plant adjusts the output of the units in accordance with environmental regulations.
The output of the Paks nuclear power plant had to be reduced again - The extreme heat is not sparing the Danube, which can cause serious problems.
