Pakistan says 42 security personnel killed in Balochistan attacks this week
Security forces say the attackers targeted civilians, police and infrastructure, and 54 militants were killed in follow-up operations, officials said.
- On Wednesday, Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry announced that 42 people died in three Balochistan attacks, while security forces killed 54 terrorists belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij during subsequent operations.
- Terrorists struck Hanna Urak, the Mangi Dam Quetta Pumping Station, and Bela, with Gen Chaudhry noting militants aimed to disrupt vital water infrastructure and security operations across the region.
- According to the Director General, security agencies possess evidence that a majority of attackers were Afghan nationals, with the Afghan Taliban regime providing facilities to groups orchestrating these acts against Pakistan.
- Addressing a press conference, the Director General blamed India for the violence, vowing that intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Dalbandin will continue until all elements behind the attacks are brought to justice.
- The United Nations Security Council recently highlighted the Baloch Liberation Army's increasing brutality, citing a March 11, 2025, hijacking that killed 31 people, including 21 hostages, as part of a long-standing pattern.
