Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan taken back to jail after medical checks
Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan was transferred back to jail early on Friday, hours after being taken to a private hospital for court-ordered medical checks, authorities said.
At the end of 2025, Mr. Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to 17 years in prison for acts of corruption which they both contest, believing that the prosecution was politically motivated.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was returned to Adiala Jail on Friday morning after a medical examination. Following a Supreme Court order, he was taken to Islamabad's Shifa International Hospital the previous night. A team of doctors declared him medically fit after examining him. He was returned to jail around 5 p.m.

"A team of qualified doctors, including an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist, and a physician, conducted a detailed examination of him and declared him medically fit. His sister, Uzma Khan, remained present during all stages of the medical examination/treatment," Tarar said.
