Pak athletics body bans Arshad Nadeem's coach Salman Butt
- On October 10, 2025, the Pakistan Amateur Athletics Federation imposed a lifetime ban on Salman Iqbal for violating the Punjab Athletics Association constitution, barring him from all athletics roles.
- In late August the Punjab Athletics Association scheduled elections around August 31, 2025, despite an August 30 AFP letter urging legal compliance, prompting an inquiry committee.
- After reviewing records the inquiry committee summoned Salman Iqbal Butt and Syed Habib Shah to present their defence, but neither appeared before the panel and the AFP declared the Punjab Athletics Association elections null.
- Salman Iqbal disclosed that the Pakistan Amateur Athletics Federation had dissociated from Arshad Nadeem last year and he sought financial help to train Nadeem in South Africa and rehab his calf muscle injury.
- The AFP said the measures were intended to protect the integrity of the sport, instructed affiliated units to cease dealings with banned officials, and informed World Athletics, the Asian Athletics Association, and Pakistan Sports Board.
