Burglars Ransack Home of Gables Couple Killed in Kenya Chopper Crash, Steal Artwork, Cars, Cops Say
Police say stolen artwork, documents and two vehicles were recovered after a search warrant led to the arrests of Geybert Alexander Garcia and Melany Perdomo.

- Between Aug. 20 and Aug. 22, authorities said the pair ransacked the Valencia Avenue residence, stealing personal documents, electronics, jewelry, a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover, and a 2020 Porsche Taycan.
- Investigators tracked a stolen MacBook Pro to a home on Northwest 195th Terrace, where officers recovered numerous stolen documents and a sculpture valued at more than $500,000 during Tuesday's search.
- In bond court Wednesday, defense attorney Paul Basile presented a notarized document claiming Garcia had permission to enter the home, but a family friend disputed the claim as impossible.
- Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Mindy Glazer ordered the pair held without bond, stating it was "pretty egregious to break into somebody's home of victims who had just perished.
