Family Seeks Painted Rocks for 6-Year-Old Girl with Cancer | How to Help Build Maddie's Rock Garden
The garden has grown to more than 200 painted rocks as family, friends and strangers send messages of encouragement during her cancer treatment.
An Overland Park, Kansas, family maintains a 'Rock Garden' for 6-year-old Madison Lang, providing hope and joy as she battles cancer.
After Madison received a rhabdomyosarcoma diagnosis in late May, parents Zach Lang and Lauren Lang launched the garden about three months ago to help their daughter cope.
Since the initiative began, the collection has grown to more than 200 rocks, with family, friends, and a local school classroom delivering handmade items on Saturday morning.
The painted gifts put a smile on Madison's face, providing inspiration as she prepares for her first surgery scheduled for Tuesday. "It means a lot to her," Zach said.
Zach Lang and Lauren Lang continue accepting new contributions to support Madison's journey. Supporters can mail painted rocks to 7500 W. 151st Street, P.O. Box 23335, Overland Park, Kansas 66283.
