Ozon shares plunge after Ukrainian drone strikes hit warehouses
Shares in Russian online retailer Ozon plummeted following drone strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with investment platforms reporting a sharp 28% drop after news broke of fresh attacks on three Ozon warehouses overnight on August 24. The Russian stock market of Ozon fell sharply after a series of drone strikes at its warehouses, and in a matter of minutes the company lost 185 billion rubles of capitalization.
Ozon shares declined by 12.7 per cent to 2,600 roubles after the opening of the main trade session at Mosbirge, and the Mosbirgi index dropped to 2,092 points at the beginning of the bidding, 2 per cent below the closing level of the previous session.
The Russian stock market began a new week with a rapid fall – on the morning of August 24, the Mosbirgi index dropped by 2.08 percent – to 2090.65 points.
Ozon stock lost almost a fifth of its value in a few hours.
