- Carriers may suspend mail delivery to unsafe homes, forcing residents to pick up mail at their local Post Office. Dog attacks can leave owners liable for medical bills and lost shifts.
- Employee safety manager Leeann Theriault said proactive awareness prevents injuries. USPS recommends using Informed Delivery to anticipate carrier arrivals and keeping dogs in separate rooms during delivery hours.
