Outkast, Waffle House team up for merch drop; Druski honored
The collection includes T-shirts, jerseys, socks and hats, and a downtown Atlanta launch party will feature limited-edition items, meals and live DJs.
On Friday, Oct. 2, Atlanta hip-hop duo OutKast and Waffle House launched a merchandise collection featuring t-shirts, jerseys, and hats available online starting at 11 a.m. EST.
Founded in Avondale Estates in 1955, Waffle House joined Atlanta-raised OutKast, who rose to fame with their 1996 debut album "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik." The pair teased the partnership Tuesday by quoting a song.
The Waffle House at 135 Andrew Young International Blvd NW hosts the launch celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST, featuring a live DJ, special meals, and complimentary souvenir menus.
This collaboration follows Waffle House's previous retail experiment during the World Cup, when the chain stated it was "honored by the enthusiasm and curiosity" shown by international visitors.
In another spotlight on Georgia talent, Time magazine named Gwinnett County entertainer Druski one of the world's most influential rising stars with more than 30 million social media followers.
