‘Our homes would be surrounded by solar panels’, residents tell planning inspectors

Objectors told inspectors the seven-farm scheme would cover 1,020 hectares and power about 115,000 homes a year, the applicants said.

Villagers have told planning inspectors their homes would be surrounded by solar panels and could no longer be considered “rural” if a huge solar farm planned for the North Yorkshire countryside is approved.
