World's first intergovernmental mediation body set up in Hong Kong, as 33 countries sign on
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday attended the signing ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation in south China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Hong Kong will host IOMed, an international centre for dispute mediation, proposed by China. The initiative aims to strengthen the city's overall role and expand the Chinese diplomatic influence.
