Orioles Reinstate Helsley From 15-Day Injured List
Helsley returned after missing nearly 7 weeks with right elbow inflammation, and Baltimore optioned Anthony Nunez to Triple-A Norfolk.
On Tuesday, the Baltimore Orioles reinstated closer Ryan Helsley from the 15-day injured list prior to their game against the Mariners.
Helsley had been on the injured list since April 29, 2026, sidelined by right elbow inflammation that disrupted his season.
Before the injury, the 31-year-old pitcher recorded a 2.53 ERA and was 7-for-7 in save opportunities following his two-year, $28 million free agent deal signed in December.
Right-Hander Anthony Nunez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk to create necessary roster space for Helsley's return.
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said getting Helsley back "trickles everyone down," noting the bullpen performed well despite navigating two months without the closer.
