The public-law broadcaster ORF in Austria will be headed by Clemens Pig from next year. The ORF Foundation Board elected the 51-year-old as the new Director General, as announced by the country's largest media company. It is the first time in decades that the broadcaster and its 4,000 employees have received a Director General from outside.
After scandals and political strife, the ORF has elected a new boss in a marathon session: Clemens Pig is supposed to bring the Austrian broadcaster to rest.
It took 15 hours for the ORF meeting council to reach agreement on Clemens Pig: to become the new Director General of the station. The election will probably be put to the test.
