Oregon Avoids Boise State Upset: Flaws Emerge as Ducks Chase Elusive National Championship
Gage Hurych’s 44-yard field goal gave Oregon the lead late after Boise State tied the game at 24 in the fourth quarter.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, the Oregon Ducks defeated the Boise State Broncos 27-24 at Autzen Stadium, extending their nonconference home winning streak to 38 games.
Entering the matchup, the Broncos held a 3-1 series advantage over the Ducks, having challenged Oregon during their 2024 meeting when both teams advanced to the College Football Playoff.
Oregon kicker Gage Hurych secured the victory with a 44-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, capping a scoring drive that followed a defensive stand forcing a Broncos punt.
Ducks quarterback Dante Moore led the offense against Broncos quarterback Maddux Madsen, whose two touchdown passes kept the game tied 24-24 entering the final quarter.
The victory maintains the Ducks' 21-game home opener winning streak while improving Oregon head coach Dan Lanning's home record to 27-2 and extending the program's 38-game nonconference home win streak.
