Employers may continually complain that wages are rising too fast, but as far as FNV is concerned, they need to step it up a notch in the current collective labour agreement season. So far, employees have seen an average gain of 4.1% as a result of new collective labour agreements. The union believes that this is too little.

The plan by five opposition parties to reverse some of the cuts in education is, in the eyes of the FNV trade union, "a very bad idea". D66, CDA, ChristenUnie, SGP and JA21 threatened to vote against the budget in the Senate on Wednesday if the cuts in education go ahead. They want cuts worth 400 million euros to be scrapped.
