Operation Goldfish: AIVD and CIA trained Ukrainian spies in the Netherlands

The Netherlands played a role in training dozens of talented young Ukrainian soldiers to become spies. This took place in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

In 2016 and 2017, two secret training missions took place in the Netherlands. The CIA and the AIVD jointly trained dozens of young Ukrainian soldiers to become spies. The mission was named ‘Operation Goldfish’. This is evident from research by the NOS and de Volkskrant.
