I Got ChatGPT Agent to Deliver a Truly Useful Report - and Then NotebookLM Took It to the Next Level

Last week, OpenAI launched ChatGPT Agent, a new AI feature available to $20 Plus, $200 Pro, and Team subscribers that performs tasks autonomously in the ChatGPT UI.
OpenAI introduced Agent by integrating the Deep Research system with the Operator tool, allowing it to autonomously browse the web, perform data analysis, write code, and connect with third-party services including file storage and development repositories.
The Agent runs a virtual computer visible through a live action window, supports multitasking, and limits Plus users to 40 messages monthly and Pro users to 400 messages monthly.
In tests, Agent created detailed reports within 23 minutes, offered race options in Europe, asked clarifying questions, and required occasional user corrections, while NotebookLM enhanced results with an audio overview.
OpenAI promises Enterprise and Edu rollouts by July's end, warns rollout will take days to complete, and suggests Agent may become a reliable research and analysis tool as its accuracy improves.
