OpenAI will retire several models, including GPT-4o, from ChatGPT next month
OpenAI will retire GPT-4o and other models on Feb 13 due to improved personality and customization; only 0.1% of users chose GPT-4o daily, most prefer GPT-5.2.
- On February 13, 2026, OpenAI will discontinue GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini and OpenAI o4-mini from ChatGPT, following earlier plans to retire GPT-5 Instant and GPT-5 Thinking.
