OpenAI Takes on Meta with Always-on Dots Agent in Enterprise AI Push
The agents run on GPT-6 Astra, connect to more than 4,000 apps and are rolling out first to paid ChatGPT users.

- Operating on their own cloud computers, Dots include built-in rules for independent action but allow users to set custom boundaries dictating when agents require permission, supported by auto-review features verifying compliance with safety requirements.
- Starting today, ChatGPT Pro subscribers at $100 monthly and Business Premium users gain access to Dots, with OpenAI reiterating it does not use business customers' data for AI training by default.
- Text messaging with Dots via iMessage and RCS on Android will launch soon, while OpenAI envisions teams of Dots collaborating on projects—though Reuters reported Friday the company is still addressing rogue agent incidents that leaked 53 images from earlier breaches.
