OpenAI launches scheduled tasks in ChatGPT, details here
OpenAI said the new hub lets ChatGPT set reminders, recurring work and monitoring tasks, with Pulse set to be removed in 14 days.
OpenAI launched a dedicated Scheduled page for ChatGPT on Wednesday, rolling out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on web and mobile. The sidebar shortcut allows subscribers to view, manage, and monitor automated tasks in one place.
With this update, OpenAI is sunsetting Pulse, the personalized daily summary feature launched last year. Pro users retain access for 14 days, after which they can replicate the experience by scheduling daily briefings through the new tasks hub.
ChatGPT can now schedule prompts for specific times or broader windows like morning, afternoon, or evening. The system also enables monitoring tasks that proactively search the web or connected apps, sending notifications only when new information emerges.
All tasks run faster and more reliable than before, OpenAI says, though Scheduled tasks are capped at running once per hour. Unattended tasks may pause automatically after a period of inactivity.
The company has not yet announced a timeline for bringing the Scheduled system to Free tier users. OpenAI's decision to elevate task automation suggests the company views it as central to how users will interact with ChatGPT going forward.
