Andrew's Law introduces lifetime driving bans for fatal dangerous driving and immediate 90-day suspensions, with fines up to $20,000, to enhance road safety in Ontario.
- On Nov. 25, 2025, Ontario will table Andrew's Law in a fall justice bill to impose lifetime driving bans for dangerous driving causing death, honoring Andrew Cristillo, 35-year-old father of three.
- Andrew Cristillo, 35, was killed on Aug. 3 in a head-on crash in Whitchurch-Stouffville that injured his wife and three daughters, and his brother Jordan Cristillo launched a petition earlier this year.
- Under the proposal, police would be allowed to immediately suspend a driver's licence for 90 days and impound a vehicle if they believe someone was driving dangerously, with fines on a sliding scale from $2,000 to $10,000 for first offences, up to $20,000 for subsequent offences, and a 14-day, 30-day, or 45-day impound period.
- Eighteen-Year-Old Jaiwin Kirubananthan faces dangerous driving causing death and other charges, and was also charged after a car hit an Ontario Provincial Police vehicle Ontario Premier Doug Ford was travelling in January.
- Jordan Cristillo said `My brother died because a dangerous driver was allowed to keep driving,' adding `Andrew deserved better, and families deserve real protection,' and `Andrew's Law makes sure of it.
