Ontario just shy of meeting target of four hours direct care for LTC residents
- Ontario did not meet its target of four hours of direct care for long-term care residents by March 2025, achieving three hours and 49 minutes, or 95.5% of that target, according to the Ministry of Long-Term Care's report.
- Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario, stated that reaching almost the target is "excellent news" given challenges in the health-care sector.
- The government identified challenges in recruiting and retaining staff in rural and remote communities as a need to address to increase direct care hours.
