The Ontario government plans to add 2,600 new teacher training places to address the growing teacher shortage. The 2025 provincial budget submitted by Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy allocates $55.8 million to expand places in education colleges across the province by 2027, with the earliest effective as September this year.
