Online pet store shut down after £6.3m 'unexplained transactions'
The Insolvency Service said accounts showed no significant transactions despite more than £6.3 million in payments and widespread complaints from customers and agencies.
On Tuesday, September 22, the High Court wound up Funny Fuzzy, an online pet retailer, following an investigation by the Insolvency Service into unrecorded financial transactions and customer complaints.
Investigators discovered the business filed accounts showing no significant transactions, despite evidence of more than £6.3 million in incoming payments between August 2023 and January 2026.
Funnyfuzzy Tech UK Co. Ltd refused to cooperate with investigators and maintained no presence at its registered London address, while receiving complaints from customers, Action Fraud, and Trading Standards.
Mark George, chief investigator at the Insolvency Service, noted the company's predecessor was shut down in 2024, stating those behind such firms appear to "ignore UK company laws."
The Insolvency Service remains committed to disrupting similar business models, as George warned "we are watching and we will investigate" any entities attempting to replicate this trading behavior.
