GREENWOOD, INDIANA, JUL 30 – The 44-year-old pilot died in a crash under investigation near a gas station; no ground injuries reported, officials said.
- On July 30, a small plane crashed near East Main Street and Sheek Road in Greenwood, killing one person, the pilot and sole occupant, officials said.
- On May 11, a passenger plane crash in Greenwood left two survivors, marking the second crash at that location this year, according to Greenwood Fire Department.
- First responders arrived at 10:47 a.m. and found the aircraft in a ditch behind the Circle K gas station near the Nest Event Center, officials said.
- Greenwood Fire Department said investigators have notified the FAA and NTSB, with teams responding; officials reported that `At this time, there is no information about the plane’s origin, destination or the cause of the crash`.
