A man died in an apartment fire in the center of Knittelfeld (Murtal district) on Sunday morning. The fire broke out around 9:20 a.m. on the first floor of the apartment building for reasons that are still unclear, the local fire department reported. After firefighters forced entry into the apartment, a team wearing breathing apparatus found an unresponsive person. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
