The embargoes of bank accounts with debtors of the CAE by the Treasury General of the Republic in turn opened a debate on the limits of tax collection, the protection of wages and the impact that these measures can have on families.
Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz recalled that according to the FNE report, "40 percent of students are in careers that will not return them."
"The number of people who have contracted debits and who have later been frustrated is impressive," the minister said in Congress in the middle of the embargoes by the CAE. However, "the withholdings are only being applied to those who earn more than three and a half million pesos a month," he reiterated.
